Could the Raptors Still Finish with 60 Wins (Part 1)

Jordan Chakravarty

Last season seems like a completely different world for the Raptors. No one was expecting them to be as they were the year before, but they were somehow way better. They commanded the Eastern Conference all season, and finished in the first seed for the first time in franchise history. The playoffs were a completely different story, but the regular season was nothing short of magical. The one landmark they failed to reach was the coveted 60-win season. They finished 59-23, and lost a very hard-fought match-up against Miami in the final game of the season. In hindsight, they really should've taken it easy for that last game and save it up for the playoffs. Oh well...

This year seems different. With Kawhi Leonard, Danny Green, and now Marc Gasol on board with the team, they seem built for playoff success. We will see about that when the time comes, but right now we're in the regular season, and it would still mean a lot to a lot of fans (this one included) if the Raps were able to secure their first 60-win season. It's still within reach, but oh boy, it'll be tough.

They have 11 games to go this season. They're currently at 50-21. This means they would have to go 10-1 to finish the season. Now, none of this will matter if they burn out in the playoffs, but for now, just for fun, let's talk about that possibility.

Part 2 is coming out soon!
